Taking Care of our Teachers
Vanessa's first priority was to stop the exodus of our talented teachers and staff by taking action through retention bonuses, pay raises, and creating a childcare program for teachers and emplyoees.
Improving Student Success
RISD student performance is on the rise across the board, including outpacing state averages, increasing graduation rates, and more career certifications available for students.
Defending Public Education
Vanessa strongly advocates for fully funding our public schools, and proudly supported a Board Resolution asking state leaders to oppose a voucher program.
